Jennie Troup

Following her postgraduate degree in secondary music education at UCL Institute of Education, Jennie has taught Music and Performing arts within a wide range of educational settings across the South West region. Since stepping down from full-time classroom teaching, she has remained active within music education, working as a private music tutor and as a performance examinations consultant.

Over the last two decades, Jennie has also worked extensively within the music education publishing sector with commissioned projects for many publishing houses including Dorling Kindersley, Quarto publishing, Future Publishing, and the Guardian media group. Since 2002, she also has worked freelance for Future Publishing’s monthly Guitar magazine, Total Guitar.

Over the years, she has worked on numerous exam syllabus development projects, exam papers and book publishing contracts with the music examinations board, Rockschool. Most recently, she has worked as a consultant on their internationally-acclaimed classical piano and classical violin exam series.
