Developing Programme (12 – 15yrs approx)
- Three creative ensemble workshops a year (1 per term)
- Instrument-specific pathway activities – see below
- Termly tuition budget (grant-holding students only)
- Exam costs & music accessories budget (grant-holding students only)
- Access to mentoring, music production, and composition support

Advancing Programme (13 – 19yrs approx)
The Advancing Programme is designed for students aged 13+ who are working at a minimum of Grade 5 standard.
- Creative residential course (full board, during summer holiday)
- Genre-specific short overnight courses (full board, weekends/ school holidays)
- Instrument-specific pathway activities – see below
- Termly tuition budget (grant-holding students only)
- Exam costs & music accessories budget (grant-holding students only)
- Access to mentoring, music production, and composition support
- Trinity Laban A Level Music Distance Learning *
We are happy to discuss a bespoke programme of support to suit your available budget.
* South West Music School work in collaboration with Trinity Laban to offer the opportunity to study A level music on a distance learning basis.


ACTIVITIES: OUR TUITION PATHWAYS
Contemporary
We deliver workshops for electric guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and keys students. These contemporary musicians’ activities include specialist tutor support alongside band ensemble sessions that cover a wide range of genres and styles from Rock, Blues, Funk, Ska, Jazz, Latin, and more.

Songwriting & Vocals
New pathway – full details to be announced soon!
We will be delivering a programme of workshops specifically designed for songwriters and vocal students. These activities include specialist tutor support, 1-2-1 online sessions, and in-person workshops across the year. This pathway will work in parallel with our other activities for genre-specific sessions.

Strings
A typical strings workshop provides a 1-2-1 masterclass style session with one of our professional upper or lower string specialists, along with small ensemble group activities throughout the day. We link with the Wind Tuition School to enable students to work within mixed chamber ensembles.
Each workshop ends with an informal showcase performance for family and friends.

A typical woodwind and brass workshop provides a 1-2-1 masterclass style session with one of our professional specialists, along with small ensemble group activities throughout the day. We link with the Strings Tuition School to enable students to work within mixed chamber ensembles.

ACTIVITIES: OUR CONSULTANCY MENTORING
Consultancy Mentoring
We work with a dedicated team of professional musicians and music educators across the wider music industry. Sessions can be arranged as one-off consultancy sessions or as a block, and can address topics to suit your musical interests and needs, from exploring career pathways, conservatoire and university options, specialist areas of academic music interest, and more.
They can be held as online video calls or in person.
