Developing Programme:
KS3 Workshops
Designed for musicians in Key Stage 3 (school years 7–9), our Developing Programme (currently known as our Performance Development Programme) offers a dynamic and immersive musical experience. The programme includes four one-day weekend workshops and culminates in an exciting weekend residential course (including a one-night stay), where students showcase their progress in a final performance for friends and family.
We offer two specialist groups:
🎻 Classical Group – for musicians playing piano, voice, and orchestral instruments.
🎸 Contemporary Group – for those playing electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, saxophone, keys, and vocals.
Each session provides a collaborative space where students can learn, explore, and create music alongside like-minded peers. While part of a structured programme, each workshop is designed as a standalone experience, allowing students to attend as many sessions as they wish. This year, our Developing Programme students are diving into the rhythms and melodies of Latin American music.
Sessions take place in the well-equipped music department at Wellington School, led by a team of highly experienced and professional music tutors.
