Katharine Fuge
Mentor – Vocal Specialist
Over the course of her singing career, Katharine has established a reputation as a skilful and versatile singer with a special feeling for text and language. She now brings all the experience from over 30 years of singing, and her studies of voice science, to help each student not just understand how their voice works but give them the skills to bring everything they sing to life, whether it’s a song, an aria, a chanson, a lied or a scene – classical, pop, alt/classic rock or musical theatre repertoire.
For over 30 years Katharine has been performing and recording with leading classical ensembles across the UK, Europe, North and South America, the Far East and Russia. Standout moments include Bach’s St. John Passion live on TV from the BBC Proms, a standing ovation at San Francisco Symphony Hall for Mozart’s Mass in C minor, singing Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater in London’s beautiful Wigmore Hall, Haydn’s Creation live on Dutch TV from Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and a late night session at the Edinburgh International Festival with Concerto Caledonia and the ‘Bard of Dundee’ Michael Marra. Her recordings include award-winning recordings with the Ricercar Consort, and John Eliot Gardiner’s Monteverdi Choir.
