Dr Oliver Leaman
Trustee

Dr. Oliver Leaman is a highly accomplished music educator and composer with over 25 years of experience.He has held prestigious roles, including Professor of Composition at Trinity College of Music and music therapist in Bosnia during the Balkan conflict.

As Director of Music across Blundell’s Senior and Prep Schools, Dr. Leaman oversees an exceptional provision of choral, instrumental, and academic music and a celebrated outreach and partnership programme that stretches pupils and prepares them for higher education and beyond.

Oliver’s academic achievements include a PhD in Pedagogic Composition from Brunel University in acoustics and pedagogic composition and the Prix de concours mérité from the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. With a strong focus on educational outreach, his work has been recognised through numerous prizes, including bursaries of excellence and national competition accolades. He has also worked with children impacted by conflict and mentored young offenders.

His deep commitment to music education and innovative teaching methods ensures that his students not only achieve excellence in their studies but also develop a lifelong passion for music.
